Auditions for the Caltech Glee Club are low-pressure. Choral singing experience is welcome but not required; everyone with a tuneful voice who commits to attend rehearsals will be accepted. Please bring a short piece to sing unaccompanied. The director needs to hear your voice to determine placement in the choir. Auditions are held in the director’s office – located on the side of the rear building (end of the driveway) at Caltech Music House, 305 South Hill Ave. Sign-up sheets will be taped to the office door during the week prior to auditions.
Chamber Singers is an auditioned group with singers selected from the Glee Club membership. Repertoire is advanced and rehearsal time is limited, so this group is for capable singers looking for an extra challenge. All those auditioning for Chamber Singers will be asked to demonstrate music reading ability during Glee Club auditions.

Sunday, September 30, 4:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 7:00 to 10:00 pm
Please bring a short solo (3-4 minutes) that represents the level of your playing. You will be asked for a scale or two and will be given some sight reading. For further information please contact Prof. Gross at email@example.com.
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, October 2 in Ramo Auditorium, from 7:30 – 10:00 pm.
All music auditions will be held at the Caltech Music House, located at 305 South Hill.
Sign-up sheets will be posted here and in the Music House during the week prior to auditions. Auditions are friendly and low stress. If you have a very short (2-3 minute) prepared piece that represents the level of your playing, bring it, but don't hesitate to audition if you do not have anything prepared. If you haven’t played your instrument in some time, please come and audition anyway. There may also be some sight reading.
Participating in a music group takes a maximum of three hours per week. If you need to borrow an instrument, please contact Cindy De Mesa at firstname.lastname@example.org.
